What it looks like to be fully understood:
-Jesus sees our truest heart and all the other parts of us we don't want to share; He sees through the person we share with the world. ["But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him.' For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” - I Samuel 16:7]
-He knows our greatest weaknesses and empathizes with ALL of our struggles. Jesus was cast out into the desert to be tempted; to test His faith - and Jesus was tempted, by Satan. Satan spoke directly to Jesus taking advantage of His hunger and challenged Him to prove His power, by changing stones into bread. Jesus resisted and responded to Satan that man does not live on physical things alone, but by the Word, the strength of God. [Matthew 4:1-4]
-We can bring our struggles to Jesus without shame. He was once as human as us; he suffered, hurt, cried - He can truly relate to our weakness. If we let Him, He will transform our weaknesses into strengths, little by little.
-Jesus knows our deepest desires; what we long for in our hearts. And when our desires don't match up with His, He doesn't get frustrated and rip them away from us, He gently allows our not so great desires to prove to us their flaws. His love is not forceful or controlling.
-He knows us fully in every way from our creation, He knows where we've been and where we'll go - And he doesn't let anything we do change His love for us. He doesn't let who we are define His love for us ["For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 8:38-39]
-We are given a constant flow of love, and with that love comes grace; forgiveness for all we've done wrong, and release from the chains of sin. If we live in a state of guilt, of not accepting Jesus' grace and forgiveness, then His death on the cross was for no reason.
"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." -Hebrews 4:15-16
